Over Easter I decided it was time to spring clean and go sorting through the cupboards. Not the usual sorting of clothes and shoes but letters, newspaper clippings and things long lost.
I opened an envelope to find a certificate given to me in Switzerland by the Golden Pass Railways for having travelled the Golden Pass Express. Certificate No: 5348 dated 10th April 1991. Seems such a long time ago but the memories of past travels in Switzerland came flooding back.

The Golden Pass route is Lucerne – Brunig Panoramic Express – Interlaken – Zweisimmen – Crystal Panoramic Express – Montreux – Geneva. My travels however, were in the opposite direction from Montreux. My travel memories are of seeing flower filled window boxes, timbered houses, scenery so breathtaking that I knew I would want to return again and again. I travelled the journey in stages, stopping in Interlaken and Lucerne.
So I am pleased I keep things (yes – even items sometimes thought as rubbish) my Easter Monday turned out to be a day of travel memorabilia and new ideas of where can I take my next holiday.
